  Running back Bhayshul Tuten tweeted Friday night that he has decided to transfer from North Carolina A&T to Virginia Tech. Tuten, who has two years of eligibility left, had tweeted on Dec. 14 that he was entering the transfer portal. He then received offers from Virginia Tech, Boston College, Georgia, Missouri, Kansas State, Pittsburgh and Florida, according to his tweets. He tweeted on Dec. 24 that he had picked Boston College. But he has now flipped to the Hokies. "Change of plans!" he tweeted Friday night. The 5-foot-11, 195-pound Tuten rushed for 1,363 yards and 13 touchdowns on 208 carries as a sophomore last fall for North Carolina A&T. He also had 31 catches. He earned FCS third-team All-America honors, as well as All-Big South-first team honors. - Roanoke Times

  Receiver/return specialist Jaylin Lane tweeted Sunday that he has decided to transfer from Middle Tennessee State to Virginia Tech. Lane had tweeted Thursday that he had decided to enter the transfer portal. He made the All-Conference USA second team as a punt returner this season. He also earned honorable mention as both a receiver and kick returner. Lane had 69 catches for 940 yards and five touchdowns as a third-year sophomore this season.

He averaged 8.4 yards on 18 punt returns and averaged 23.1 yards on 11 kick returns. Lane had 10 catches for 110 yards and one TD in the team's Hawaii Bowl win over San Diego State last month. In 2021, he made the All-Conference USA first team as a punt returner. He has two years of eligibility left, including the extra year of eligibility that the NCAA gave all 2020 fall-sports athletes because of the coronavirus pandemic. - Roanoke Times

  2022 ALL-BIG SOUTH CONFERENCE FIRST TEAM: RB - Bhayshul Tuten, Soph., North Carolina A&T,...Tuten lost the battle for offensive player of the year to Gardner-Webb quarterback Bailey Fisher. Yet, the New Jersey native had a season to remember, and he is still on the Walter Payton Watch List for the best FCS offensive player in the nation. Tuten rushed for 1,363 yards and 13 touchdowns on 208 carries.

It is the fifth-best single-season rushing performance in school history. Tuten broke the school and conference records for consecutive 100-yard games in a season. In addition, he tied the conference record for consecutive 100-yard games regardless of the season and broke the school record for 100-yard games in a season. Tuten also caught 31 passes for 572 yards and four touchdowns, giving 1,705 all-purpose yards and 17 touchdowns on 239 touches. - North Carolina A&T Football

Following Baylor's season-ending 38-27 loss to Texas, Drones had announced that he was entering the transfer portal but was keeping his options open to return to Baylor.   Baylor redshirt freshman quarterback Kyron Drones announced Wednesday that he's entering the NCAA transfer portal. However, Drones said there's a possibility he could return to Baylor after exploring his options. "These past two years were a blessing, but that being said, I will be entering the transfer portal with three years left of eligibility," Drones said. "I will explore my options with the possibility of coming back to Baylor."
